Then I saw him. The dead guy. Okay, I realized pretty quick that he wasn`t technically "dead". He was undead. Our unhuman. Whatever, scientists said one thing, people said another, but the end result was the same. There was no mistake what he was and even if I hadn`t felt the power and darkness that radiated from him, there was no fricking´way I could miss his Mark, the sapphire – blue crescent moon on his forehead and the additional tattooing of entwining knot work that framed his equally blue eyes. He was a vampire and worse. He was a Tracker.

Well, crap! He was standing by my locker.

"Zoey, you´re so not listening to me!"

The vampire spoke and his ceremonial words slicked across the space between us, dangerous and seductive, like blood mixed with melted chocolate.

" Zoey Montgomery! Night has chosen thee; hearken to Her sweet voice. Your destiny awaits you at the House of Night!"

He lifted one long, white finger and pointed at me. As my forehead exploded in pain Kayla opened her mouth and screamed.

So the bad news was that I`d have to move into the House of Night, a private boarding school, known by all my friends as the vampire finishing school, where I would spend the next four years going through bizarre and unnameable physical changes, as well as a total and permanent life shake – up. And that`s only if the whole process didn`t kill me.

But the good news was that I wouldn`t have to take the geometry test tomorrow.

When sixteen-year-old Zoey is marked by the Tracker, she knows her old life is over. Now she has to leave her friends and family to join the House of Night school, where there`s only one subject Zoey needs to study: Vampire 101.

Of cours, there`s always a catch, and this one`s nice and simple: if you fail, you die…



Jeg likte boken, spennende med en ny endring av hvordan vampyrer blir til osv. Interessant at de kan bruke magi på den måten de gjør. Men jeg må dessverre si at jeg blir skuffet. Så klart er hovedpersonen spesiell, men synes man kan overdrive litt!

Jeg har ikke lest boken flere ganger en den ene gangen og det samme gjelder de andre bøkene. Boken er spennende til å lese en gang, men ikke flere ganger.
